We are proud to have taken part in several projects focusing on documenting the evolving history of our part of east London in partnership with local schools, artists and arts organisations. Find out more about these recent projects below:

As part of our 10th anniversary in 2016, we presented Stepney Words III – an anthology of poems by young people about east London today. The publication is a result of workshops in 4 London Borough of Tower Hamlets secondary schools with Chris Searle and 4 outstanding young poets from the UK’s leading poetry organisation Apples and Snakes. You can buy the book Stepney Words III online here

The photographic exhibition Being Me was the result of a year-long creative collaboration between young people from Morpeth School and renowned photographer, writer and activist Shahidul Alam. Through photography, young people explored their own stories and identities, and staged the exhibition here at Rich Mix. Find out more here.

In autumn 2017 Rich Mix piloted a brand new project, working with school pupils from Tower Hamlets to make 5 short films on the people of east London. Find out more here.
