Radical Ideas: Call for Submissions Autumn 2016

Radical Ideas: Call for Submissions Autumn 2016

In April 2016, Rich Mix turned ten. As part of our birthday celebrations we will be commissioning a range of new work that is rooted in the East End, and curating a programme that explores the historical, political and artistic context in which Rich Mix was conceived and founded. We intend for our programme to celebrate the rich diversity of the local area and to examine how the arts is closely linked to political and social change. This programme will look back at the history of protest, dissent and creativity in the East End and we hope that it will allow artists to imagine the London of the next decade and beyond.

For these celebrations, we are commissioning ten new pieces of work that will take place in our performance spaces upstairs between April 2016 and March 2017. Find out about the work we’ve commissioned for the Autumn season here.

We are offering a £500 commission, as well as rehearsal space here at Rich Mix, a performance included in the main programme and a split of the box office for the performance. Your proposal must be an original idea, which has not yet been shown, and cannot be shown elsewhere prior to your performance at Rich Mix.
