You, Me, the World and Tower Hamlets

Saturday 23 June

In a nutshell

Two storytellers and one violinist tell stories, collected from the people of Tower Hamlets - with a big community meal beforehand - all for free!

Go on...

Tower Hamlets is full of voices. Let’s hear what they have to say.

Conversations. All over Tower Hamlets. In cheery classrooms, pokey offices, on the streets and knees deep in a muddy farm. Over cups of tea and glasses of fizzy pop, through joy, through anger and through sadness. People have been talking, people have been sharing their stories.

What time did you wake up this morning?

Where were you born?

Will the future be better than the present?

What’s your story?

What’s our story?

What’s Tower Hamlets’ story?

Community storytelling company take stock exchange have teamed up with The Yard Theatre and Rich Mix to try to understand what’s really going on in Tower Hamlets. Now, we’re going tell you what happened - with live music and delicious food, we’re going to give you an insight into a neighbourhood you thought knew - but maybe you don’t...

Join us on 23rd June, to eat, drink and listen to the stories of your neighbours. All for free!

Please note, you can book either:

Free meal at 1pm + free ticket to the show at 2pm.

Only a free ticket to the show at 2pm.

Who's Involved

take stock exchange

Our work enables people to express, connect, imagine, empathise and see everyday surroundings in a new light, creating a dialogue through difference - whatever that difference might be: age, body, economic, ethnic, political, religious.

Our work enables people to explore, celebrate and question commonality and differences; the past, present and future of themselves and the places they live and work.

Our work enables people to tell and listen to stories.

We’ve been working in East London since 2013, this is our first project in Tower Hamlets.

What people are saying

'... it sparked inspiration, discussion and thought. Listening to stories from others brought up some unexpected discussions. It was also fascinating to see how dynamics of different groups influence thinking and perception... people didn’t want to leave' - Audience members in response to You, Me, the World and Redbridge
