In a nutshell
Through story and song, Coco shares a step-by-step guide that leaves you prepared to enter the world again, ready to create your very own “somewhat” happy life.
Through story and song, A Gentle Reminder: Coco Peru’s Guide to a Somewhat Happy Life, is a show devised from all kinds of personal and memorable experiences. Coco noticed that as she got older she received lots (and lots) of messages from fans seeking sincere advice. So this is for those Coco Puffs out there (the nickname for her fans) and everyone else in need of some worldly guidance. It is a chance for Coco to share some sage wisdom in the way only she can: with candor, humor, and with a flick of that iconic copper wig.
Would you believe, Coco has not been in the UK for 10 whole years?! Since her sell out shows at Soho Theatre in fact. Despite this Coco receives weekly tweets and emails from the UK asking of her return and has decided give the fans what they want. Coco is teaming up with And What? Festival, bringing her newest one-woman show to Blighty. Happy anniversary!
What to Expect
A thoughtful, thought provoking show about achieving happiness and well-being from one of the US’s best loved cabaret performers, who just happens to be a drag queen. Expect story, song, candour and just a touch of spice.
There is also the option to meet Miss Coco Peru herself, by purchasing a Meet and Greet ticket*!
Miss Coco Peru
Storyteller and performer Miss Coco Peru is a regular on the US scene, delighting audiences across the country with her sell-out live shows, and worldwide through her ever growing on-line & social-media presence. Old fans and new flock to see Coco, a unique talent and much loved Queen.
One of the foremothers of contemporary drag, Coco (performed by Clinton Leupp), has been in the business for over 25 years. Coco is one of the best known, best loved and best decorated drag performers in the world. Left in Coco’s wake are countless live shows, film and TV credits and a significant social media footprint (partly responsible for her enduring popularity – she knows how to move with the times).
