In a nutshell
He's naked. He's angry. And he's on the run... Storyteller Ben Haggarty, and musician Sianed Jones embark on an intense monster's-lib interpretation of Mary Shelley's modern myth.
Truly a story for our time, Frankenstein speaks of power unleashed; the responsibility of the creator towards the created, and our fear of the unknown.
Expect wild song, steam punk & fast-paced epic storytelling in the hands of two master performers. Enter a world of feverish dreaming...
What to Expect
Drawing on the original story, Hollywood’s cinematic retellings, Greek and Jewish legends, and pop culture, this powerful and startling contemporary performance combines improvised spoken word, vocals, bass and electric violin, to lure audiences into the imagined world of Dr Frankenstein and the monster he created.
Internationally renowned for his playful, challenging and dynamic performances, Ben Haggarty tells his stories with infectious charm and deceptive ease. Composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer, Sianed Jones, has been variously described as having a voice like that of a 'wailing Welsh banshee', a 'soft seducer', and a 'passionate revolutionary'.
THE CRICK CRACK CLUB is the UK's premiere performance storytelling programmer and promoter, working with the finest performance storytellers, developing audiences, supporting artists and collaborating with venues across the UK and Europe.

After an upbringing drenched in the choral and poetic traditions of Wales Sianed has toured the world. Haunting and spontaneous, once heard, she is hard to forget…
