Dash Arts presents
Dash Café: Warsaw
Wednesday 28 February
In a nutshell
Documentary screening followed by a conversation exploring how the last century has impacted the physical and cultural landscapes of Warsaw today.
EUTOPIA is Dash Arts' new series investigating what it means to be European. In the first edition, they bring Warsaw into focus, in collaboration with the Polish Cultural Institute. They will be watching Tomasz Wolski’s extraordinary documentary The Palace, on the both loathed and admired Palace of Culture and Science, as a way into a discussion to explore the physical and cultural impact that communism, followed by 25 years of life in Europe have had on Warsaw today. They'll be joined by guests including Kaja Pawelek, academic and senior curator at Warsaw's Centre of Contemporary Art, and Owen Hatherley, author of the brand-new Trans-Europe Express, a searching, timely account of the condition of contemporary Europe, told through the landscapes of its cities.
Doors Open at 7pm. Event starts at 7.30pm.
