Dash Café: Revolution - 100 Years On
Wednesday 25 October
In a nutshell
An evening of conversation reflecting on the impact of the Russian Revolution: one hundred years ago and now.
Our October Café, held on the anniversary of the October Revolution a century ago, explores its impact on Russia today. We’ll bring together artists, activists and writers including Charlotte Hobson, award-winning novelist, translator and journalist, and author of Black Earth City and The Vanishing Futurist, DJ, cultural critic and author of Subkultura: Stories of youth and resistance in Russia, 1815-2017 Artemy Troitsky, and finally Vladimir Ashurkov, Russian dissident and colleague of anti-corruption crusader Alexei Navalny, to look back and reflect on the potential for a future Russian Revolution that might shake the world.
The talks will be accompanied by music from the unmissable Russian singer songwriter Lena Kaufman.
