Part of Serious Space 2017, the distinctive sound of soulful French musician Adam Naas and up and coming Courts.

GO ON...

Soulful French musician Adam Naas’ style – a somberly romantic, contemporary dark soul– makes a powerful impression with his distinctive voice and sound. Having toured with the likes of Gregory Porter, tonight he will perform from his remarkable new self-titled EP (out now on Virgin/Mercury). It’s an emotional soulful outpouring from the heart, featuring plaintive piano chords and chilled stripped-back beats reminiscent of The XX and James Blake.

As part of this Wednesday night double bill Courts will appear alongside Adam. Drawing influence from a diverse spectrum of genres including funk, hip-hop, disco, grime and rock, the band have cemented themselves as a group of musicians who’ve worked hard to find an individual sound and found fans in Zane Lowe, MTV and Nile Rodgers amongst others. The live show is as equally an energetic and boundary crossing experience as the recorded music, with the band having just been hot listed by NME Magazine in their 100: Essential New Music for 2017. With so much impressive support under their belt and a string of releases, videos and shows planned for the coming year, Courts continue to pave the way as an up and coming act to keep a close on eye for the future.

'Trying to summarise Courts music is almost futile – it’s a graceful blend of JME’s furious vocals and Jamie T’s witty observations, mixed effortlessly with the funky guitar/bass combo of Chic.' NME
