what's it all about?

The son (Josh O’Connor) of an ageing family of farmers struggles to adjust when a brooding Romanian migrant (Alec Secareanu) takes a job as a casual labourer on their farm.

tell me more (don't worry, no spoilers)

Johnny Saxby (Josh O’Connor) works long hours on his family’s remote farm in northern England. He numbs his daily frustrations with nightly binge-drinking and casual sex.

But when a handsome Romanian migrant worker (Alec Secareanu) arrives to take up temporary work on the family farm, Johnny suddenly starts to form an intense relationship which could change his life forever.

Captivating and brooding, God's Own Country is a Sundance award-winning British debut that's bracingly open and thrillingly romantic story, featuring a host of standout performances.
