BlacKkKlansman Special Screening + Live satellite Q&A with Spike Lee
Monday 20 August
All orders will be subject to a fee of £1.50 except if your tickets are free or if you are a member
about the event:
Visionary filmmaker Spike Lee gives a live satellite Q&A about his latest Cannes sensation and incredible true story, produced by the Academy Award-winning team behind Get Out.
About the film:
Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) becomes the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs Police Department, but his arrival is greeted with open hostility.
Undaunted, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan.
Posing as a racist extremist, Stallworth contacts the group and soon finds himself invited into its inner circle, even cultivating a relationship with the Klan’s Grand Wizard, David Duke (Topher Grace).
With the undercover investigation growing ever more complex, Stallworth’s colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), poses as Ron in face-to-face meetings with the hate group. Together, they gain insider’s knowledge of a deadly plot.
BlacKkKlansman offers an unflinching, true-life examination of race relations in 1970s America that is just as bracingly relevant today. A rousing crime drama with stark moments of levity, Spike Lee's latest was rapturously received at this year’s Cannes film festival.
