Celebrate the launch of Mark Leeming's Bearded Brutes Exhibition with a night of free short films and performance.
Join us in celebrating the world premier of the hyper-coloured and stylised photographic exhibition by Mark Leeming. To celebrate the launch, And What? have teamed up with Fringe! Film Festival to present an evening of short films that respond to the themes of the exhibition. Come and enjoy a glass of wine and popcorn and some fresh new film talent.
Throughout the opening evening, expect additional irreverent pop-up activities including make-over stations and performance.
And What? Is the newest (and only) pan-London Queer Arts Festival on the block. With over 25 events across 4 weeks in multiple venues across the North, South, East and West of the Capital we bring you everything from circus to visual arts, performance to international drag superstars. What to expect
The Exhibition opening will be hosted by Mark Leeming and some of his Brutes. Then take a seat in the Main Space to watch short film screenings and pop-up performances. Enjoy live make-overs, wine and conversation throughout.
Mark is a Northwest based photographer specialising in fashion, portrait and landscape photography with a slant toward LGBTQI culture.
Fringe! is a film and arts festival rooted in London's queer creative scene and welcoming everyone. They're not-for-profit and run by a team of passionate volunteers. From feature films to experimental art, workshops to interactive walks and wild parties, Fringe! Fest 2016 will be hosting a multitude of diverse events to tickle every one of the senses. With a signature blend of eye opening movies, DIY and experimental work, the thoughtful, the provocative and the strange, they'll be packing out cinemas, art galleries, pop-up venues and basement clubs.
HOME Projects is an ongoing series of exhibitions in the Granada Foundation Galleries at HOME, Manchester’s international centre for contemporary visual art, theatre and independent film. It is a strand that focuses upon support of emerging NW artists, independent curators, explores the nature of affordable art and also highlights creative practice otherwise excluded from gallery presentation, including art direction, illustration and new writing.
