A screening of a great classic Soviet film, watched on sofas, chairs and cushion in the Dash Arts Dacha, an installation modelled on the iconic Russian country house set amid in the revolutionary chaos of 1917.
A rare opportunity to experience this stunning 6-hour epic film directed by Sergey Gerasimov (1957) telling the story of the lives of the Cossacks in a village in southern Russia between 1912 and 1922.
What to Expect
Lose yourself in the film within our Dacha, a rural Russian idyll, an oasis of cushions, rugs and home comforts.
Dash Arts Dacha is curated by co-Artistic Directors Josephine Burton and Tim Supple, designed by Bryan Woltjen and packed with musicians, actors, activists and thinkers. It has played to rave reviews at Latitude Festival, British Library, Leyton Midsummer and Wandsworth Fringe Festivals. The Dacha forms part of REVOLUTION17 - an explosion of performance by artists from across the Post Soviet States.
