Tomorrow's Warriors Mango Spice
Sunday 14 October
A fun and interactive performance workshop for families to enjoy together, exploring music and dance from the Caribbean diaspora; from folk-song and reggae to carnival and New Orleans parades.
Come along ready to move about and get involved! A participatory workshop suitable for all ages and all abilities. With a series of song and rhythm activities and call-and-response games, it is designed for children and young people to take part in with their older siblings, parents, carers, grandparents (and great-grandparents!). A 50 minute workshop will follow a fun and relaxed warm-up, with each week focusing on 2-3 songs typical of a specific genre of Caribbean music. All participants are encouraged to stay to see for the afternoon jazz jam session. No experience necessary! Come prepared wearing comfortable clothes and shoes.
'Lots of fun … relaxed setting, very comfortable atmosphere' (Mum of 5 year old)
'Great! Lots of fun with great energy' (Dad to 2yr-old & 3 month old)
'AWESOME!!! Love the dancing and maracas and activity sheets!' (Merissa, 9 & Mayla, 7)
