Nariscia Henriques presents
Takeover 2018: Transition - Exhibition
Until Sunday 5 August
Transition showcases acrylic paintings depicting the transitions of black men and women with the use of natural motifs and abstract patterns. Artist Nariscia Henriques paints with warm, inviting colours to highlight positive imagery of black people; soft, beautiful, regal and bold. A short film will be screened, visualising similar themes through contemporary dance. Both the artwork and film invites you to embrace your own personal transition, and ask the question of what it means to transition to your higher self.
Nariscia Henriques is a London-based visual artist who centres her work around her Afro-Caribbean heritage, as well as mark-making and symbolism inspired by Ghanaian and Ancient Egyptian traditions.
