Contra Journal Launch - Issue 1: Displacement

Friday 19 January
Venue 2
All orders will be subject to a fee of £1.50 except if your tickets are free or if you are a member

In a nutshell

Join new publication Contra Journal, the visual culture and conflict journal, for the launch of its first issue, Displacement

Go on...

Contra's first issue looks at visual responses to past and current migrations, and features the work of photographer Harley Weir, Forensic Architecture, dancer Akram Khan, artist Lucy Wood, photographer Seba Kurtis and System of Systems, amongst other fantastic contributors.

To launch the first issue, Contra will be hosting a launch event. A copy of the issue is included in each ticket, and more copies will be available to purchase during the evening. Join Contra for a night of music and conversation, in which photography from our contributors and a selection of artist’s video works will be exhibited, all of which will give different visual interpretations on Displacement. There will also be speeches from the editors.

What to Expect

Guests will have a chance to collect their copies of the new publication, during an evening with music and speeches, an exhibition of photography and video works on Displacement, with drinks available to purchase.
