In a nutshell
Short scratch works presented by emerging hip hop theatre artists.
An evening of short work-in-progress work from grass root hip hop theatre artists. The choreographers have all been on a professional development course facilitated by Artists 4 Artists called ‘Artists 4 Growth’ receiving workshops from hip hop theatre pioneers such as Curtis James, Kwesi Johnson & Robert Hylton. Now they put all that theory into practice by presenting their own short scratch work.
Expect to see raw hip hop theatre at its finest, from some of the freshest artists.
What to Expect
Explosive and uncensored work in progress ideas from hip hop theatre artists. An eclectic line up of artists who are immersed in b-boying, hip hop, krump, popping, locking and house.
Artists 4 Artists is an artist-led network activating industry change for the UK hip hop community. Founded in 2016 by dance artists Lee Griffiths & Joseph Toonga alongside producer Emily Crouch, Artists 4 Artists aims to address the lack of access to opportunities for hip hop theatre makers.
Supported by Arts Council England, Greenwich Dance, Redbridge Drama Centre and Rich Mix.
