Six artists from diverse backgrounds put women centre stage.
The night will kick off with stand up comedy from Sindhu Vee and will feature spoken word from Tuyen Do with Unbroken and Elena Procopiu with Dear Mama, plus three pieces of bold new drama: A brutally honest observation of a mother-daughter relationship in Shobu Kapoor’s Leviathan Monologues, a daughter speaking her mind in Chris King’s Fragment and a look at three generations of feisty women in Trunk by Caroline Loncq.
Following the showcases is an Open Space forum of simultaneous discussions with Mandy Fenton of Equal Writes and Lucy Kerble of Tonic Theatre. + Raffle and prize draw!
The theme of the night is a response to an alarming statistic published last year by The Guardian, Equity and Sphinx revealing that for every stage role written for women, two are written for men.
