Streets of...7 cities in 7 minutes

A preview of  Alda Terracciano's  video sound  installation 'Streets of... 7 cities in 7 minutes.'

Co-produced by ALDATERRA Projects and Stream Arts for the Greenwich Peninsula Festival, this is an eagerly-anticipated video sound installation composed of seven art works - each representing a different city – which immerse the audience in a virtual reality of sounds, images, smells, and tastes typical to each place.

The project has been designed to uncover the ancestral memory of three historical, intersecting journeys (the Indo-European migrations, the Silk Road, and the Transatlantic Slave Trade) as they unconsciously resurface in people’s everyday life across the globe, through sounds, movements, and common rituals.

Its ultimate aim is to develop a deeper understanding of the diverse cultures in the UK, to challenge cultural stereotypes and lower cultural barriers. This vision echoes the London 2012 Olympics’ themes and values.

The audience will be encouraged to actively engage with and be part of the project. The preview will include the presentation of two of seven art works and a Q&A with the artist. Tastes and smells will be provided.
