Steel and Society is an exhibition of photographs by Prodeepta Das.
Prodeepta took the photographs over one year, visiting various places in India, South Africa, the UK and the Netherlands, associated with Tata Steel. His photographs explore how an extractive industry like steel can help lessen poverty and suffering and work towards a sustainable future. Prodeepta has written and photographed books for children and exhibited widely. S is for South Africa, for which he took the photographs was chosen by the American Library of Congress as the best children's book on Africa.
