Neon Dance will return to Rich Mix this summer to present a curated evening of live dance, music and film.
Neon’s stage production The Intention featuring an original score by Nils Frahm and Anne Muller
Web application Archived’it plus Special Guests
About the work:
Working with Dartington Hall Trust Neon has deconstructed and manipulated the 1934 dance film ‘Dance on Steps‘ by integrating a new dancer into the original archive material. Archived’it is a HTML5 web application that allows the user to create their own version of ‘Dance on Steps‘ to a soundtrack provided by the Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds (Erased Tapes Records).
The Intention, choreographed by Adrienne Hart is a dark and transformative dance work for the stage, inspired by ‘The Invention of Morel’, a novel by Adolfo Bioy Casares. Created for dancers David Lloyd and Jennifer Essex, The Intention features set design by Nico de Rooij and an original score by the renowned composing duo Nils Frahm and Anne Muller.
“Free and uplifting, evocative and genuinely moving”
