Dogan Mehmet and the Boombox Karavan
Dogan could be described as the creator of Anglo-Turkish, Gypsy- rock, funk, reggae style mix of traditions and strong acoustic grooves. A diverse remixer of Brittish, Turkish and Cypriot roots Music. He dose this alongside his Bi-lingual self-penned material. Described critically as “a captivating sound of multi-culturalism”. He is a multi- talented entertainer he makes a storm wherever he goes with a huge enthusiasm for his Cultures and music. http://www.theboomboxkaravan.co.uk

Perhaps Contraption
An astonishing 8 piece art pop, marching band. A roving lung & percussion-powered assault. Regurgitating swing, oompah & deeply danceable twisted brass; performances are infused with jubilant horns, massive choral vocals & Dada-fuelled theatricals. With a relentlessly puls-ing, mutant pram-kit at the core, a surreal & subversive knees-up will undoubtedly com-mence... www.perhapscontraption.co.uk

Ichi
ICHI, from Nagoya in Japan takes the notion of a one-man band to new limits, combining his handmade instrument inventions with steel-drum, ping-pong balls, tape-loops, xylophone, double bass and trumpet, all in the space of one short set. Somehow there's an ancient, ritualistic feel to his performances. He's like the misplaced leader of a tribe and perhaps he will be - it's this kind of energy and innovation which inspires a cult following. http://www.ichimemos.blogspot.co.uk/

Bronze Medallists
The self-effacing name just meant I had to take a listen and it made sense. The music is as understated as the band name, yet the lyrics are the ego for the material. This dichotomy cannot fail but to intrigue, a fine balance Bronze Medallists teeter along, on the right side of the www.uk.myspace.com/bronzemedallists
