Live Vibe will return to Rich Mix on 10th November. After the success of Live Words in September, Hakeem “Mr Impact” Onibudo will host an evening showcase of London’s talented dance and spoken word artists.

At Live Vibe: Politically Correct? Hakeem Onibudo will take the audience on a journey to explore potentially controversial and sensitive topics. Dance and spoken word artists have created work looking at issues such as child trafficking, and the lack of female choreographers in dance.

Nathan "Neo" Gordon's (company) Flo'Ography will be making a  comeback with a talented cast including one of the Some Like It Hip Hop lead dancers Teneisha Bonner, Darron Gifty, Theo Lowe, Heather Choo and Russell Royer with music edited by DJ Walde.

The full line up will showcase contemporary, Hip Hop and Jazz dance work from EIC Dance Theatre, FFI, Ivan Blackstock and Simeon Qsyea of Birdgang, Laura Dajao, Kansaze Dance, and SIN Cru. Jonzi D and Paradigmz will be bringing spoken word and rap to the stage, and the evening will be rounded off with a DJ set from Mikey J of Boy Blue Ent.

PLEASE NOTE Live Vibe, 10th November is for over 18s only. The Main Space has limited seating, please arrive early if you wish to have a seat.

Live Vibe UK background
Live Vibe is an original concept which was performed for the first time at Sadler’s Wells. It offers a rare opportunity for young artistes from the worlds of dance, music, spoken word and beyond to present work in a professional environment during the early stages of their careers, as well as the invaluable experience of performing in a top London arts venue alongside established professional companies.

Hakeem Onibudo Background
In 2009, Hakeem Onibudo was made Cultural Leadership International with the British Council, and since then his work with communities has enabled him to travel around the world and inspire people on a global scale. As a result of this, in January 2011 a conference call with the Deputy Director of the British Council in Zimbabwe led to the creation of Live Vibe Zimbabwe. This show featured 6 dance groups from the areas of Bulawayo and Harare, as well as a 'Super Crew'  who were auditioned and led by Tony Adigun (Artistic Director of Avant Garde Dance). This group were given the unique opportunity to complete an intensive week of workshops with Tony to create a brand new piece for the show. Of course, no Live Vibe is complete without its interactive and fun atmosphere, delivered by the creator and host, Hakeem Onibudo.
