Freestyle Fourms is the main part of the night, it's interactive because a short 10 – 15 minute play is presented by a cast of rapper / actors where the main character encounters a difficulty they need to overcome, they never succeed in the first run. We begin the play again and at any moment where an audience member thinks they have a new solution or can change the action of the main character they shout stop and come into the play to replace the main character to try their suggestion, the audience members do not have to freestyle. This gives the audience the chance to shape the narrative and influence the outcome through the decisions they make.
For the rest of the night think, ‘Who’s line is it anyway meets freestyle rap’. They’ll be freestyles accompanying film clips, where the actor / rappers overdub characters’ voices in the clips to give it a new script, freestyles from your chosen subjects, freestyles as randomly created characters, have you ever experienced a freestyle from a cross between Mike Tyson and a Zebra? We have. We welcome the audience to challenge the MC’s to create freestyle stories from linking random photo’s submitted by the audience, come play and discover this and more in a Freestyle night with a difference.
