Cambodia & France, 2012, 58mins
Directed by Guillaume Suon & Lida Chan
At 16, Sochan was forced to marry a Khmer Rouge soldier she had never seen before. She was one of at least 250,000 Cambodian women forced into marriage in a concerted effort to increase the population. After 30 years of silence, Sochan is ready to file a complaint with the international tribunal, and with quiet dignity she begins to demand answers from the regime.
RED WEDDING won the award for Best Mid-Length Documentary 2012 at IDFA (International Documentary Festival Amsterdam).
