Lunar Year of the Horse!
KUNG HEI FAT CHOY! (A common greeting people say to each other during the Chinese New Year, which means ‘May you prosper!’)
Free and open to all, this annual event aims to bring people from different communities and cultures together and share the joy of the Chinese New Year.
• High quality music, dance and martial arts performances, encompassing both traditional and contemporary style, from the classic lion dance, Shaolin Kungfu, and Chinese string duo to modern dance and pop band show
• Delicious food and drinks (chow mein, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, jasmine tea, you name it!)
• Fun charity stalls
• Creative arts workshops for children to learn about sand painting, watercolour painting and papercutting
The event is organised by the Chinese Association of Tower Hamlets, a charity that has served local communities for more than 30 years.
Supported by Tower Hamlets Council and the East End Community Foundation.
