Rich Mix is delighted to offer a new strand of initiatives to reach out to the community. We recognise its importance and the impact it can make to our neighbourhood. The programme consists of arts and cultural educational activities and talk back conversations to address the issues faced by the community living in East London.

Auditions
Are you a passionate and committed dancer between the ages of 13 to 19? Then this could be for you. GUD is a new gifted and talented company of young dancers from various dance backgrounds. The company will meet every Tuesday 6pm – 8pm during term time, where they will take class, create and perform choreographed work. The company will be rehearsed and directed by professional dancer, teacher and choreographer Lee Smikle and based at the Rich Mix.

Entry is by audition only which will be held yearly. A taster session will be held on Tue 10 November at 6pm – 8pm where you have an opportunity to register for the auditions.

Dancers of all styles welcome and encouraged to audition. We are looking for dancers who have a passion to learn contemporary dance and who enjoy performing and being creative.

Want to be an actor but can’t commit to 3 years of drama school? This intensive 12 weeks acting course run by Ninaz Khodaiji, an experienced actress and director who trained at the Herbert Berghof Studio and the Lee Strasberg Institute, will teach you the basics of actioning, The Method, Meisner work, speech, movement and voice. Suitable for 16 years +.

Bollywood Dance workshops

Every Wed from 14 Jan – 31 Mar / 6.00pm – 8.00pm / Glass Room / £25 for 12 weeks

Bollywood Dancing is one of the hottest dance styles around! Led by nationally renowned dance specialist Leena Patel of Flex FX Productions, the dances are a rich mix of traditional and classical Indian dances with influences of street, jazz and modern dance. Suitable for 14 years +.
