Listen to this year's Drama in the Mix Radio Plays

On 21 March 2012, Rich Mix and British Land presented a talent showcase for secondary students from the Olympic Boroughs, in association with BBC London, Half Moon, Roundhouse Radio and our patron Michael Rosen.

Schools from across the Olympic boroughs were invited to take part and the project was open to students in years 7 to 11.

The schools which took part were:

  • City Academy (Hackney)
  • Skinners Academy (Hackney)
  • Chingford Foundation Girls School (Waltham Forest)
  • Central Foundation School for Girls (Tower Hamlets)
  • Mulberry School for Girls (Tower Hamlets)

and the students came from years 7, 8 and 9.

Listen to the Radio Plays

Last year Drama in the Mix celebrated the creativity of East London’s schools with a festival of short radio plays devised, written, produced and performed by students.

This year we have built on the feedback teachers and students provided, to enhance the offer. We are delighted to have worked with Half Moon, with their expertise in young people’s theatre and teacher training. With them we introduced a special interactive workshop to provide off-the-peg teaching ideas. We also embraced Roundhouse Radio, a fantastic online radio station run by young people, which will broadcast the final plays on April 16th at 5pm.
