At last, you can finally come to an event where all the facets of Hip Hop Culture are kicking off at the same time and the same place with tasters so that you can spin the decks, drop beats, spit rhymes, bust a move and get yourself a tag. But there’s more! This will also be an opportunity for live performances by emerging talent alongside established artists to showcase their skills to an audience over the 2 days. Anointed Productions and Rich Mix are joining forces with Urban World, Pyro Radio and ITV Local with many other sponsors, speakers, guests and artists to bring you this event and exposure to the participants. “The Hip Hop Weekender aims to give value to the culture that young people worldwide have embraced and made their own. It will be laced with screenings, seminars and showcases to feed the mind, body & soul and dispel the negative images that often make the headlines. It will give a sense of history, education and entrepreneurship led by role models that look like us and come from where we come from!” |

The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival - Education Screenings This two-week festival every autumn is a celebration of the best in new cinema from around the world. Over the past 52 years the festival has forged a reputation as one of the world’s premier public film events, where diverse film-loving audiences are offered the chance to see the work of exciting new film makers alongside their more established counterparts. With 180 feature films and 130 shorts, the festival also includes a wide range of events, panel discussions, artists’ film and video and has a large industry programme of screenings and events. Rich Mix is delighted to be one of the official venues taking part in this year’s festival and we have two screenings, one for Families and one for Young People, as part of the festival. They are sick of people telling them what to do. Their last CD was a massive hit and their first live set at Exile FM ’s birthday bash is coming up. Don’t people know they’re set to hit the big time? Then Zahida comes into their lives and cracks begin to appear in their friendship. Locked In is a revival of Half Moon’s hugely successful 2006 production and reunites the original creative team. Fin Kennedy was runner-up for his script, 'Locked In', at the Brian Way Award 2008. |
