These new cinema and storytelling sessions are for parents, carers and children and will be led by acclaimed, bilingual poet and storyteller Shamim Azad.

Each session will start with a short talk and screening in the cinema followed by a storytelling workshop in the café. Drawing upon the narrative, characters and themes of the films shown, Shamim will read her own poems and stories and will assist participants in creating ‘story sacks’, containing props, costumes, sets and puppets.

These workshops are a wonderful opportunity for parents and children’s to develop their media and literacy skills.

The sessions will take place between 10.00am and 12.00pm on:
Saturday 28 June, Saturday 5 July, Saturday 12 July, Saturday 19 July, Saturday 26 July, Tuesday 29 July, Saturday 2 August, Tuesday 5 August, Saturday 9 August, and Tuesday 12 August.
