Rich Mix’s overall artistic aim is to have a holistic approach to art and culture drawing on
the wisdom and traditions found in the heritage of the local community, with particular
reference to BAME communities.

Objectives
• To build an intercultural programe across art forms that inspires, motivates and
attracts the widest spectrum of visitors/participants to the centre.
• To offer a programe that reflects and uses the strengths of the building around film,
music, education, comedy, literature/spoken word and small-scale mixed media/live art.
• To set up partnership with sister organisations – locally, nationally and internationally.
• To host culturally specific festiva ls and events that profile diversity and the creative
industries.
• To initiate a network for BAME led organisations to support the raising of the profile of
work from the sector.
• To utilise the building so that it is one of the venues for the Cultural Olympiad
surrounding the build up to the games and beyond as part of the Olympics legacy.
• To host an educational programe that supports the artistic programe and is linked to
all areas of creative expression and development showcased at Rich Mix.
• To promote equality and diversity in the arts and creative industries.
• To build a programe that reflects the diversity of the organisation and the interplay
between tenants and Rich Mix and the opportunities that it offers to the broader
community as a unique hot house of creativity.
