Denzil Nurse is the young African Caribbean male who walked into a committee meeting and shot 6 people. He pleads guilty to the charges and is immediately sent for psychiatric assessment to see whether or not he is fit to be sentenced. This brings him face to face with Jules Wright, the African psychiatrist. What then emerges is what The Guardian describes as “an explosive example of theatre’s social role.”
